Wachusett Speech and Language Therapy is a pediatric private practice offering in-home and in-office services to the Wachusett region of Central Massachusetts and its surrounding communities. We specialize in the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of speech, language, and social-pragmatic delays and disorders in children birth through 18-years of age. At WSLT, we believe that every family should have access to exceptional care; care that is family oriented and child focused.

About Leandra

Leandra is a pediatric Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) and owner of Wachusett Speech and Language Therapy. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders from the University of New Hampshire, and received her Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology from Towson University. Leandra holds the Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA) and is licensed by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts’ Board of Registration for Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology.

Leandra grew up in Shrewsbury, MA, living in New Hampshire and Maryland for several years before returning to Massachusetts to plant her roots near her family. She currently lives in Rutland with her husband and their cat and dog.

Professional Experience

Leandra has experience working in the early intervention and pediatric outpatient settings, treating individuals birth through 18-years of age with needs in a diverse range of areas, receptive and expressive language, articulation and phonology, motor planning, reading and writing, executive functioning, social skills and pragmatic language, and fluency. Leandra has enjoyed working with children with a variety of diagnoses including autism spectrum disorder, Childhood Apraxia of Speech, Down syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, hearing impairments, Wolf-Hirschhorn syndrome, developmental delays in speech and language, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), dyslexia, anxiety disorders, among others. Her professional passions include community education, advocacy for special education services, and supporting children through individualized treatment, as well as collaboration with their families.

Leandra has continued her education through trainings in Kaufman Speech to Language Protocol, TalkTools’ Oral Placement Therapy, Social Thinking®, SOS Approach to Feeding, Sheldon & Rush Early Childhood Coaching Method, and Reading with TLC’s Lively Letters program.
